Open Application for BIP- Computer-assisted Translation

We are excited to announce the start of the application period for the Erasmus Blended Intensive Program (BIP) on Computer-assisted Translation, hosted by our partner university, University of Rijeka, Croatia. 

A Blended Intensive Programme is a short-term physical mobility with an online part (virtual component).

The BIP will take place between 18 and 28 September 2026 at the University of Rijeka, Croatia. There will be a mandatory virtual component, too. 

Requirements:

To be a Master in English Studies – Linguistics and Translation at Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen.

English Language: minimum Level B1

What do you get?

Erasmus grant: 79 euros per day (example: 5 days physical mobility + travel support about 200 euros)

ECTS credits: 4

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • show understanding of basic concepts of computer-aided and machine translation
  • use selected tools and services for computer-aided and machine translation
  • compile corpora and provide corpora descriptions
  • identify different machine translation approaches and evaluate them
  • evaluate and compare different machine translation tools and methods
  • apply suitable text pre-processing and machine translation post-processing techniques
