We are excited to announce the start of the application period for the Erasmus Blended Intensive Program (BIP) on Natural Hazards in Mountain Regions, hosted by our partner university, Babeș-Bolyai University Research Station in Coronini, Romania
A Blended Intensive Programme is a short-term physical mobility with an online part (virtual component).

The BIP will take place between 06-10 July 2026 in the Babeș-Bolyai University Research Station in Coronini. There will be a mandatory virtual part too on 02.07.2026.
Requirements:
To be an undergraduate, graduate, or PhD student at Shumen University in History and Geography, Geography and Biology, and Geography and Regional Policy.
English Language: Level B1
What do you get?
Erasmus grant: 79 euros per day (example: 5 days physical mobility + travel support about 200 euros)
ECTS credits: 3
Learning outcomes:
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Explain key concepts and processes related to natural hazards in mountain regions.
- Apply remote sensing, GIS, dendrochronology, and field-based methods to assess natural hazards.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret field and spatial data for hazard evaluation.
- Develop and propose appropriate hazard mitigation strategies.
- Work collaboratively and communicate findings through group presentations and discussions.
